Changing one meaningful variable makes the next comparison easier to understand. Changing flour, hydration, temperature, folding, and proofing simultaneously may produce a different loaf, but it will be harder to know which change mattered.

The purpose is not to discover a universal perfect formula. It is to understand how your starter, flour, kitchen, schedule, and technique work together.
